You know something is popular when you see all the instagram ads for it. Or all the tours ads on Facebook inviting you to join. Well, my curiosity was piqued. It peaked? What is this ‘Pink Muhly’ all over my social media apps??
My initial search told me that they were all outside of Seoul and that it would take at least an hour or more to get to a park that had it. However, one girl I follow tagged a nearby park and suddenly I had plans that weekend.
I woke up bright and early and not really knowing what I was getting into, made my way to Haneul Park. All the images of the park didn’t show an entrance fee but a fee to ride a tram to go up and down. I didn’t think too much about this until I arrived and saw how steep the climb was.

Actually, 291 steps wasn’t all that bad and it wasn’t crazy hot so I made it to the top. This place was huge and somehow without a map, I managed to find the grass. And of course, I took plenty of pictures.

I even came across a super cute birdhouse installation? I loved this! It was so whimsical and adorable and there were birds chilling in these houses.

A lot of my decisions regarding which path to take was because of a ‘gut’ feeling. Or perhaps the flow of people? Though most of the times I decided to go where there were no people. And somehow managed to find the fabled pink grass.

I didn’t even know anything like this existed until a few weeks ago. Wikipedia says it doesn’t exist in California so there was no way I would have ever known about it. But I’m glad I went and looked for it. Of course I spent the rest of the day at home watching movies because it got too warm to be outside.
